WHO’S THAT MAN BEHIND THE CURTIAN AND WHAT’S HE SAYING?

“The Syrian regime’s policy of maintaining power by terrorizing its people only indicates its inherent weakness and inevitable collapse, Assad has no right to lead Syria, and has lost all legitimacy with his people and the international community.”

This was President Obama’s quote to the UN Security Council just before a critical vote on the UN Resolution backing the Arab Leagues plan to remove President Assad as President of Syria. President Obama is taking a hard stance on Syria after 11 months of brutal crackdown by the Syrian government against their “Arab Spring” uprising. Both Russia and China, with veto powers, voted against the resolution thus killing it, at least for the time being.

There was a time when the voice of the American President carried far and wide and the leaders of other nations listened and, for the most part, followed. The problem today is that our President carries no clout with the countries of the Middle East, Russia or China. For that matter he has lost respect with most of the countries in South America. This all started with his world tour just after his inauguration when he gave speeches in Arab countries about his willingness to talk and work with all the countries of Islam. Now I have no problems with Muslims or the Muslim religion but most of the countries of Islam are not friendly to the US or our alleys. Our President showed weakness from day one and has done nothing to change that perception. The stance that the US took during the crisis in Egypt and now with the continued view that the Muslim Brotherhood has changed and evolved into a peaceful movement has not only undermined the safety of Americans abroad but has severely threatened the security of Israel. So what’s he going to do now? Are we looking at another Libya? Does anyone know what the end result in Libya is? Is Iran afraid they will be next? Not hardly, Iran has been at war with the “West” and more particularly with the US for 30 years now. Ever since the Shaw of Iran was removed from power the goal of the Iranian government has been the development of a World Caliphate and the destruction of Christians and Jews throughout the world. In Iraq the training of the “resistance” movement, along with their weapons and IEDs, has come from Iran. Supplies and training for the Taliban has been financed by Iran for many, many years. Now our President announces the dates when our troops will leave a region of conflict, can you imagine the fears of the women of Afghanistan after the US has promised that they will never again be brutalized by the Shari ‘a Laws of the Taliban?

The true difference in Iran versus the other Middle Eastern countries is that the populace is very well educated. These are not a bunch of bush tribesmen living with goats in the desert all with a secular government and tribal chiefs. There is a large population of pro-American citizens. There is a chance in Iran for real change that has been totally ignored by our current administration. My guess at this point is that President Obama will let Israel take the lead and then follow as he did in Libya, at least I hope he at least follows and gives Israel the support they will need to succeed with any valid attempt to destroy 40 plus nuclear sites in Iran.

Back to the opening paragraph, change a few words and you could be reading an article about the US in its current state of distrust of what our current administration is doing. The terrorizing isn’t physical its economical and social, a division of the classes. Remember Obama’s statements about “the cost of energy will necessarily rise”. It has and it will continue to do so. This administration seems hell bent on the total collapse of the American economy. If it wasn’t for the current development of oil reserves in North Dakota, the US oil production would be at a virtual standstill. Our President gives great speeches about opening all federal lease sites and off shore production but the truth is the new restrictions thought the EPA has virtually killed any potential for new drilling and growth. Did you know that the EPA is currently drafting new criteria for the development of the Shale Oil fields in North Dakota? If they succeed with the implementation of these new rules it will shut down this area of oil production. The administrations continued support for “green” everything isn’t working. It’s expensive, unproductive, inefficient and people don’t want it. The administration keeps talking about the need to create jobs but the regulations put on American companies kills any and all incentive for business to expand and grow. People are getting upset and thus the Occupy Movements across America, the only problem is it’s the wrong people leading and speaking for the movement and by in large they are blaming the wrong people.

Our country is at a point where our President has lost all legitimacy with his people and the international community. So do we continue down the same path of the past 3 plus years or do we, as a people, stand up and make a change. Unlike 4 years ago, we need to make real change and not change just for the sake of change. Where will we be as a society, as a people and as a country in 4 more years if we continue the same course or worse if the course gets accelerated?
